La festa del raccolto è una festa da sempre molto importante.
Per le antiche culture durante la mietitura del grano veniva celebrata questa festa decisiva, decisiva perché il grano che riuscivano a raccogliere sarebbe stato il sostentamento di tutta la comunità e quindi una delle cose più importanti.
Nell’Europa meridionale il I Agosto era l’inizio del raccolto, mentre nell’Europa continentale questo avveniva più tardi e la festa era un periodo di riposo prima dell’inizio della stessa.

Durante questi giorni le comunità si riunivano per ringraziare l’abbondanza del raccolto o per chiedere agli Dei un raccolto migliore per l’anno successivo.
Una delle più conosciute pratiche infatti, in alcuni luoghi ancora oggi praticata, era quella di raccogliere l’ultimo covone mietuto e di farci una bambola , veniva poi tenuta fino all’anno successivo per propiziare un raccolto migliore e in alcune culture invece veniva bruciata. Tutt'ora nelle comunità urbanizzate è ancora usanza fare la bambolina come significato simbolico.

Lughnassad (pronuncia Luunasa) non è soltanto una festività legata al grano, ma anche alla ciclicità delle cose, alla morte e alla rinascita.
Viene anche usato il nome Lammas preso da una festa anglosassone poi cristianizzata che si svolgeva nello stesso periodo, che potrebbe o meno avere la stessa origine. Come dice il nome (da loaf-mass, "festa dei pani"), si tratta di una festa di ringraziamento per il pane e quindi il grano, che rappresenta il raccolto.
Il grano è sempre stato associato ad un elemento motivo di rinascita. Fare il pane durante questo periodo è sempre stato propiziatorio.

E' la stagione in cui si abbandonano i pensieri negativi ed inutili e dove bisogna fortificare le nuove idee. Questo periodo sottolinea che è arrivato il momento di rilassarsi e iniziare a raccogliere i frutti delle proprie fatiche.
Ma è anche un momento importante per preparare il futuro , e iniziare a prepararsi per l'autunno che arriverà.
Questo è l'inizio dei momenti di trasformazione e per attuare questa trasformazione bisogna lasciare andare tutto quello che ha bisogno di morire per poter rinascere.

The harvest festival is always a very important party.
For the ancient cultures during the wheat harvest this decisive holiday was celebrated because the wheat that they could harvest would have been the sustenance of the whole community and therefore one of the most important things.
In southern Europe, August 1 was the beginning of the harvest, while in continental Europe this happened later and the feast was a period of rest before it began.

During these days the communities gathered to thank the abundance of the harvest or to ask the Gods for a better harvest for the following year.
One of the best-known practices in fact, in some places still practiced today, was to collect the last harvested sheaf and make us a doll, it was then kept until the following year to propitiate a better harvest and in some cultures instead it was burned. Still in the urbanized communities it is still customary to make the doll as a symbolic meaning.

Lughnassad (pronounced Luunasa) is not only a feast related to wheat, but also to the cyclical nature of things, to death and rebirth.
It is also used the name Lammas taken from an Anglo-Saxon then Christianized festival that took place in the same period, which may or may not have the same origin. As the name says (from loaf-mass, "feast of the loaves"), it is a feast of thanksgiving for bread and therefore wheat, which represents the harvest.
Wheat has always been associated with a reason for rebirth. Making bread during this period has always been propitiatory.

It is the season in which negative and useless thoughts are abandoned and where new ideas must be strengthened. This period underlines that the time has come to relax and begin to reap the fruits of one's labors.
But it is also an important time to prepare for the future, and start preparing for the coming autumn.
This is the beginning of the moments of transformation and to carry out this transformation we must let go of everything that needs to die in order to be reborn.
