Ouroboros

[ENGLISH BELOW] L'ouroboros o uroboro (rappresentato come un serpente o drago che si mangia la coda) è una simbologia molto antica presente in tantissime tradizioni in tutto il mondo.
Il suo significato comune è la ciclicità delle cose e la totalità del tutto.

Una delle sue più antiche rappresentazioni si trova in un testo funerario Egizio , un'altra invece è stata riprodotta da Theodoros Pelecanos sulla base del Synosius un manoscritto andato perduto , una rappresentazione collegata all'alchimia si trova invece in un'antica raccolta di scritti greci , nell'alchimia islamica è presente nell'antico testo Kitab al-Aqalim di Abu' l-Qāsim al-ʿIrāqī , nei circoli ermetici , nello gnosticismo, presente anche in un antica mappa del Giappone e in tante altre rappresentazioni in diverse parti del mondo ed in varie culture anche come opere artistiche.

Nella tradizione alchemica l'Ouroboros è un simbolo molto emblematico e importante allo stesso tempo, rappresenta il grande processo alchemico, l’immagine di un processo, in sé concluso, che si svolge in maniera continuativa e che avviene attraverso l’aumento della temperatura, l’evaporazione, il raffreddamento e la condensazione, ciclo che serve alla raffinazione delle sostanze, la grande opera e la quintessenza.

“Tutto si trasforma, niente si crea e niente si distrugge”

Questa frase , questo concetto incarna il grande significato di questo simbolo , la ciclicità dei principi della vita materiale e spirituale , in un eterno movimento ciclico di rigenerazione , rappresenta l'unità , l'energia universale e quindi la perfezione.
